The microwave does an excellent job of cooking bacon more quickly and with less mess than other methods. It also requires less tending, which frees you to do other things. Since individual microwaves vary in power and efficiency, the method below provides only an approximate time. Work out the timing for your own oven and desired degree of doneness.
Spread 3 or 4 layers of paper towels on a plate and arrange on the towels:
2 or 3 slices bacon per person
Place in the microwave oven and cook on high for 3 minutes. Touch the bacon and, if not crisp enough, continue cooking, checking for doneness every 30 seconds. Pat the surface of the bacon with paper towels and serve.
